As said in the Welcome to Your New Website article, this site is a hybrid. It's simple, yet complicated. It's old school, yet brand new school — both visually and technically. Its aim is to deliver information, and yet do so with graphic impact. It's an online extension of our chapter and is designed to serve as the most accessible conduit between members and the community at large. Just as AIGA/LA events bring people together and provoke dialogue, this site intends to do the same.
We've powered Features, Events and Quickpost with the wonderful Movable Type. Movable Type is a publishing system that empowers our visitors (ie. you!) to comment on every Feature and Event (as well as to sort Quickpostings by category). This functionality is the soul of this site, and the vehicle for the creating the dialogues we hope to see. Please join in on the discussions. Express your opinion, chime in on an issue, add your two cents, make new friends, acquire new contacts, and be part of our community. Don't be shy, it's your site.
