Mingling and refreshments at 6:30; presentation starts at 7 p.m. sharp
With: Michael Lejeune, creative director, Metro Design Studio
Moderator: Cathy Curtis, AIGA Shop Talks executive producer
Your team has invested months of creative energy in a major project for your company. Now you have to persuade layers of management that your work represents an ideal solution. But none of these folks speak the language of design.
How do you get past "I like it; I don't like it" to discuss the project's real merits? How do you prepare for the meeting, how do you run it, and how do you assess how well you've made your case?
Join AIGA President Michael Lejeune of Metro Design Studio--creators of all things visual for the third-largest transit agency in the nation--for a wide-ranging discussion of in-house pitching strategies.
Admission is free for the first 15 AIGA members who sign up;
other members and all non-members pay $40. For reservations, please call 818.558.3968. The venue address and parking information will be e-mailed to reservation holders a few days before the event.
What Is Shop Talk?
The Shop Talk series, intended for mid-career designers,
presents individuals with demonstrated expertise in areas that inform our creative output, our careers and businesses, and our outlook on the world. Limited to about 30 people, these small gatherings encourage audience participation.

What an information packed and engaging event! It was a fantastic case study tackled from all angels. Much to learn and appreciate about the state of design in LA now and the difference appropriate design and communication can make in everyday lives of people.
